FunFirst is on a mission to upskill and place non-literate and semi-literate youth from rural and tier-3 cities in India into vocational careers. They bridge the gap between education and employability through training programs, creating opportunities for those looking to move to urban areas and support their families.
Upsimple partnered with FunFirst to design an intuitive, engaging mobile app that would help these young aspirants discover relevant courses, connect with peers, and build confidence before stepping into the real world.
We conducted:
● 18 in-depth user interviews across Maharashtra, UP, and Bihar.
● Google Forms survey with 150+ respondents aged between 18–30.
CHALLENGES WE IDENTIFIED.
Course Awareness Gap: Students often enroll in courses based on hearsay, not clear outcomes
Urban Relocation Anxiety: Fear of being alone in big cities.
Trust Factor: Without peer stories or direct connections, they hesitate.
Community Need: Strong desire for peer networks and mentor guidance.
Designed a “Connect with Peers” feature before enrollment.
Course recommendation flow matching job roles and personal aspirations.
Embedded student stories and success case videos for building trust.
Created a city-readiness resource section and discussion forums.
